Anything about Everything
There are many different kinds of animals in the land of Ruithia, most still left undiscovered. Over half the population is made up of insects which live in all different kinds of environments. A variety of items with odd properties can be mysteriously found all over the land. A directory has been kept since the beginning of Ruithia and is still being added on to as more is being discovered. If you manage to discover anything please post your find in the child board, New Finds. The most common things will be sold in the Shop, occasionally something rare will be sold. You'll have to keep your eye out for new items.
______
Animals
______
Besides the painfully common animals such as the Squirrel, the Deer, the Goat, or the Rabbit, there are a lot of animals unique only to Ruithia. Here is the discovered list so far:
Rorok 'Longus Maneo' - Found only in the Peaks, this carnivorous colorful bird can live for thousands of years. It's wingspan is 12 feet and it has been known to carry away even full grown lions. It is specifically known for it's size and long tail feathers, which are three feet long alone. It's palette of colors include blue, green, black, brown, red, purple, and a shimmering iridescent grey. Their beaks are long and thin, and they have sharp feathers along their jawline and head. These birds tend to nest in caves and jagged cliffs. Traveling far in a short time, they can be found in all sorts of areas when they are hunting, this is what makes their nests so hard to track.
Lilus 'Firmus Caballus' - Found where forest meets plain, these large sturdy animals travel in herds of hundreds. Their short ears fold downwards, and their snout is thick and short. Their legs are tall but thick, and they hides are hard and difficult to penetrate. They have short fur ranging from white to brown. Males have several small studded horns on their head and two short overgrown teeth acting like tusks for brawling between herds, and females of the species and tall and faster than the males. Unlike other animals, these herding creatures have diamond shaped pupils and are colorblind. For those who still remember, these creatures might have come from the ancient elephants which lives so long ago.
Ardractus 'Parvus Almucia' - These small furry creatures are found just about anywhere; almost an equivalent to a rabbit. Slightly bigger than a fox and fatter than a marmot, they are slow on foot but fast underground. Their long claws, despite intimidating looks, are using for burrowing and digging under the earth. Their tunnels and pathways are quite wide and long, connecting to each other creating a small village. If cubs stray too far from their pride, they often find themselves trapped in these dizzying pathways. Ardractus are solitary creatures, living in interconnected tunnels and by their own at the same time.
Shriiok 'Firmus Presto' - Cousins of the Lilus, these creatures are faster, bigger, and stronger. Their herds are smaller, but more loyal to each other. With more evolved minds, Shriiok have created a social system within their herds and have a higher intelligence than almost any other creatures. They speak in different tones of shouts, brays, and body motions. One of the fastest creatures in the forest, they use their four flexible legs and slightly extended but strong tail to quickly move through the Forest of Vines. Shriiok are one of the hardest creatures to catch, but their meat can last for months and their bones are almost unbreakable. Their horns, slightly smaller than a Lilus's, can be ground up for an almost cure all medicene. Killing one of these creatures is a huge risk and can often devastate a pride, as the Shriiok work together as a herd with stronger and faster capabilities.
Hidatone 'Umbra Misterium' - Living approximately in the Point of No Return, these creatures can often turn the tide of battle. Not much is known about them other than a few mere legends. Incredibly rare, we are unsure if this thing even really exists. It might just be an old tale handed down generation to generation. See Legends and Folk Tales for more information on the Hidatone.

Herbs
_____
Here are the Poisons, Ingredients, and Healing Herbs discovered so far:
Bleeding Heart 'Foliage, Roots' - This bushy plant is medium in size, found commonly in forests and thickets. It's leaves are long with three sharp red points off each side. Though toxic, it has a sweet juicy taste when first eaten, especially the roots which strikingly resemble ginger. Eaten in small amounts, it can cause mental confusion and food digestion. Eaten in larger amounts it pops the stomach and kills. It is especially deadly to cattle and herding animals.
Cinnamon 'Bark' - Found in a small tree, Cinnamon's leaves closely resemble those of a fern's. They are usually around three to eight feet in height, growing in a small cluster. They more resemble a tall skinny bush than a tree. When mature, the top ends of the Cinnamon turn a crusty dark brown color. This is the part of the tree that is taken off the be. Crushed into a powder. It is used to relieve joint and prevent internal illnesses such as cancer and bleeding.
Richull 'Powder' - Made from the fine crushing of the common beetle, Ricoch, this powder can be mixed with water and smeared over over the bites on a victim, mildly healing them over the course of a few hours. It can also be used as a poison when ingested, causing vomit and stomach aches which will eventually go away after about a day.

Insects
______
Those annoying pests that bug you? This is excluding the ones you find everyday such as grasshoppers and ants.
Ricoch 'Rubella Molestia' - A small, long insect that tends to thrive in thick foliage and bushes, the plural of Ricoch being Richoces. They often cling on to passing animals fur, disappearing underneath it making them hard to spot. You can only tell you have Ricochs approximately seven days after getting them in your fur. The effects of the blood sucking insect are a mild swelling of the surrounding area of the bite. A few hours after the effects are first noticed, the exact spot of the bite starts to fill up with extra blood making them excruciatingly painful, being a small ball of blood surrounded by skin. These bites can be popped but will hurt and leave a scar if done. Bites can be treated by the powder of the crushed up beetle. The season for breeding is the summer and spring. They often live in large colonies, just under the bark of plants. you can tell when or if a plant is infected by the shriveling up of it's leaves or if it is dead.

Legends and Folk Tales
______
The Morning of Sleep - It is said that the Hidatone are one of the things of the Humanus time period, the result of an experiment far past failed. They appear during the heat of a battle in The Point of No Return, when all seems lost, only seen as a slightly silver sheen in the shadow of one who is winning, before the sun is blocked out. After a period of chaos and confusion, the sun would suddenly shine again and the only one standing would be the loosing person. Not a single living thing, ally or enemy, would still be alive. This is the theory as to why nothing grows in The Point of No Return. The effects of the Hidatone are often referred to as 'Morning of Sleep.'

______
Potions
______
Potion of Health - Made from the crushed powder of the horns of the Lilus, the feathers of a Rorok, and water from a puddle in the Point of no Return. The potion must be put in a glass bottle soaked in water blessed by a healer for five days before the ingredients are put in it. Ingredients must be thoroughly mixed and chopped up in the bottle, then cooked over a fire until the boiling point, which it must remain in for about a half hour. The elixir must then sit out for three days and be blessed by a healer again before use. The effects of the Potion of Health include almost instantaneous healing for minor injuries and ailments. for more sever ones, it takes a portion of the injury away. Potions of Health are not so easily made and are worth a lot in sale.
